Good to Know

F.A.Q.

An auto transport broker is a federally licensed and bonded company that specializes in the movement of vehicles by connecting shippers with carriers. It’s out goal at Load Builders Inc. to make the process as easy as possible.

Yes! However in today’s auto transport services environment it is NOT typical to stumble upon a direct carrier. If you would like to find out the type of license a company has, simply request their Motor Carrier Number (MC#) and follow this link to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration carrier check website → (FMCSA) ←

At Load Builders, we choose not to speak about other companies but instead we show you what we can do. No matter what company you are speaking with remember, there are a variety of approaches. Carriers consider a myriad of variables, such as vehicle weight and length, origin and destination, the number of other vehicles available and the rates those vehicles are offering. It is our job to consider all these variables in real time and provide you with the most accurate, competitive, viable, and appropriate rate possible.

We guarantee no one will show up and ask you for more money than, to which, previously agreed. If, you’re transporting your car with us and a different amount is requested upon delivery. Contact us immediately. You will know your final price before a driver is dispatched for your transport.

We guarantee to strive for an unmatched level of customer service throughout your transport. It is our goal to meet or exceed your expectations. However, due to the vast number of variables during transport, for example;

  • Traffic,
  • Weather,
  • Mechanical mishaps,
  • Other customers being late,

Pick up and drop off dates cannot be guaranteed. All of this in mind we will do everything we can to accommodate your requests but ask for your understanding along the way.

We are willing to discuss different options for payment. However, most commonly, upon dispatch to the carrier you approve, a small portion of your total cost is charged via; Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover. The remaining balance is due COD to your carrier, in cash or certified funds (Money Order or Cashiers Check) upon delivery and following a thorough inspection conducted by you.

Absolutely! Load Builders requires that all of our carefully selected carriers have a $1,000,000 liability policy and at least a $150,000 cargo policy. We will provide you with proof of insurance, contact information and their Federal Motor Carrier Number (MC#). While damage does occur, it is not at all common.

Typically, we request a three to five day window, after your first available date.

Department of Transportation regulations allow a carrier to drive 11 hours a day. Depending on the terrain and how heavy a foot the driver has this turns into roughly 500 miles per day. Taking into account the untold number of variables that can effect an over the road transport we  give up to a 72 hour cushion, depending on the transport. The best way to determine your estimated transport time is;

(Mileage ÷ 500) + 2 days =Transport Time

This isn’t a perfect formula, so we will specify your pick up and drop off windows on dispatch to ensure the most accurate estimate.
