What is an auto transport broker?
An auto transport broker is a federally licensed and bonded company that specializes in the movement of vehicles by connecting shippers with carriers.
Can I speak directly to a carrier?
Yes! However in today’s auto transport services environment it is NOT typical to stumble upon a direct carrier. If you would like to find out if the company you are speaking with is a properly licensed broker or a carrier, simply request their MC Number and follow this link here.
Why am I receiving such a wide spectrum of prices?
At Load Builders, we choose not to speak about other companies but instead we show you what we can do. No matter what company you are speaking with remember, there are a variety of approaches. Carriers consider a myriad of variables, such as vehicle weight and length, origin and destination, the number of other vehicles available and the rates those vehicles are offering. It is our job to consider all these variables in real time and provide you with the most accurate, competitive, viable, and appropriate rate possible.
Can you guarantee me that my price will not change?
We guarantee no one will show up and ask you for more money than, to which, previously agreed. If, you’re transporting your car with us and a different amount is requested upon delivery. Contact us immediately. You will know your final price before a driver is dispatched for your transport.
What is your guarantee?
We guarantee to strive for an unmatched level of customer service throughout your transport with the goal of meeting or exceeding your expectations. However, due to the exceeding number of variables during transport, for example; traffic, weather, mechanical mishaps, and even other customers being late, pick up and drop off dates cannot be exact. All of this in mind we will do everything we can to accommodate your requests but ask for your understanding along the way.
How do I pay?
We are willing to discuss different options for payment. However, most commonly, upon dispatch to the carrier you approve, a small portion of your total cost is charged via; Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover. The remaining balance is due COD to your carrier, in cash or certified funds (Money Order or Cashiers Check) upon delivery and following a thorough inspection conducted by you.
Is my vehicle insured while it’s on the truck?
Absolutely! Load Builders requires that all of our carefully selected carriers have a $1,000,000 liability policy and at least a $150,000 cargo policy. The carriers must also provide proof of insurance, contact information and their Federal Motor Carrier Number (MC#). Your vehicle is safe
and sound when you transport through us.
How long does it take to find a driver?
We are typically able to locate a driver within 3 -5 days of your first available date although we see it happen faster than that all the time.
How long will it take for my car to arrive once it’s picked up?
Department of Transportation regulations allow a carrier to drive 11 hours a day. Depending on the terrain and how heavy a foot the driver has this turns into roughly 500 to 600 miles per day. Taking into account the untold number of variables that can effect an over the road transport we always give a 48 hour cushion on any transport. The best way to determine your estimated transport time is to take the number of miles the trip is (zip code to zip code) divide by 500 and add 2 days, for your cushion. This isn’t a perfect formula, so we will specify your pick up and drop offs on dispatch to ensure the most accurate estimate.
